Each year the NSSA recognizes high school students on step teams who maintain at least a 3.2 GPA.
Below are the
2010-2011 Academic
All Americans.
Coach of the Year
nominations are due
by April 15th. The
NSSA Academic
All-American
nominations are due
by May 1st. Awards
are announced at the
NSSA’s Annual
Stepping Conference
in June. To be
eligible a coach or
student must be
affiliated with a
NSSA member team in
good financial
standing. The Coach
of the Year
selections are made
by members of the
Youth Coaches
Advisory Roundtable
(YCAR). Any stepper
on a NSSA member
team with a GPA of
3.2 or higher can be
recognized by
submitting the
name (s) of steppers
from the team to the
NSSA by May 1st.

The purpose of the inaugural Step U.P. Awards is
to recognize those individuals who promote the
positive aspects of stepping – both with
students and in the community. The awards
and recognition are to reflect activity during
the 2008-2009 calendar year.
Step Team Academic
All-Americans – Recognizes high school
step team members (9th –
12th grades) that maintain a
3.2 GPA or better.
Coach of the Year Awards – Recognizes the volunteer
efforts of teachers and
community leaders who
volunteer their time to
teach youth this cultural
dance form.
Your Involvement
NSSA actively
seeks involvement of individuals and
groups who support our goals.
We seek to have our membership base
grow and have your ideas
help further the NSSA.
